WPBridge Studio ChatGPT Setup Steps

Choose your connection path

Direct WordPress mode runs on your site and connects a personal ChatGPT app without a Node server. A hosted customer workspace uses the separate Studio service and its Stripe plans. Hosted purchases do not yet activate paid direct-mode licensing.

Check compatibility or diagnose a connection error.

1. Create a Studio account for hosted setup

For the hosted service, register for a Studio account with your name, email and a unique password of at least 12 characters. The customer dashboard shows verified WordPress sites, hosted daily usage and available support options. Direct WordPress mode is a separate setup path and does not require this hosted account.

Your Studio website password is different from the WordPress login and the WordPress Application Password used to verify a hosted site. Never paste any of these credentials into an ordinary chat or support request.

2. Start free or choose a hosted plan

Hosted accounts begin with a published free allowance of 20 authenticated tool requests per UTC day. You can evaluate a read-only connection before choosing a paid plan. The pricing page lists monthly, annual and one-time lifetime hosted offers, each with its stated daily allowance.

Paid access activates after a verified payment event, not merely because a checkout success page opened. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew under their stated terms; lifetime hosted offers are one-time purchases. These hosted entitlements do not unlock separate paid direct-mode licensing.

3. Install the companion and verify your WordPress site

Official availability notice: WPBridge Studio has been submitted to WordPress.org for review under the proposed slug wpbridge-studio. No plugin ZIP or older version is offered for download on this website. WordPress.org listing (pending approval) · Open ChatGPT. If you already have an installed, authorized companion, keep the initial connection read-only. Create a dedicated WordPress user with the permissions the planned workflow actually requires, then generate that user’s Application Password.

In the authenticated Studio dashboard, enter the intended HTTPS site address, dedicated username and Application Password. Use the dashboard’s verify-and-connect action to check the saved credentials. WordPress displays a new Application Password once; do not paste it into a public ticket or chat. See credential setup and revocation.

4. Authorize ChatGPT or another supported AI client

For hosted Studio, use https://wpbridgestudio.com/mcp in the client’s supported remote MCP setup and select OAuth with automatic client registration when available. Sign in with the same Studio account that holds your verified WordPress site, then approve the intended client grant. Availability depends on the client account and its current connector features.

If the authorization link expires or has already been consumed, start a fresh authorization from the same client connector. A separate legacy owner password is not required for a self-service hosted Studio account. See the detailed hosted installation guide.

What an actual verified connection looks like

See the WordPress ChatGPT MCP connector demonstration for authenticated site identity, a WordPress content read and verifiable save/revision evidence. The demonstration uses a real owner-authorized connection, not a fabricated customer result. Use the same read-back method on your own staging site before enabling publishing rights.

5. Verify reads before changes

Ask ChatGPT to list the sites, call site_status and read /wp/v2/users/me for each. A successful authenticated response confirms the connection is reaching the correct WordPress user. Check the returned site and user identity rather than treating a generic “connected” message as proof.

Only enable writing after read-only verification succeeds. Writing must be enabled in both the workspace and the companion’s settings. Use a disposable draft for a first write test and keep a backup before changing important content.

6. Monitor and revoke access

The dashboard shows requests used today and the plan allowance. Daily usage resets at 00:00 UTC. Revoking the WordPress application password removes site authorization; disconnecting the ChatGPT connector removes that client’s access. Ask support if you need the operator to suspend a workspace or investigate a connection error.
